Jim Sanderson
Professional Experience
Jim Sanderson joined the RSI staff in 1989 following 26 years in Christian ministry, including 23 years as a senior pastor of six congregations. Jim also served as Director of Development and Public Relations to 1,600 churches. An accomplished writer, Jim has published articles and Bible study materials for use in local churches. His talents make him a sought-after speaker and seminar leader for local church stewardship development in addition to serving as a consultant for his denomination's annual giving program. His pastoral and development experience provide an excellent foundation for Jim's work as a consultant with RSI. Leading over 250 stewardship programs, generating more than $500 million for local ministry, has further honed Jim's analytic skills and strategic planning abilities. He has demonstrated expertise working with independent churches, churches in all of the mainline denominations, and multi-ethnic congregations.
Jim's project focus has included construction, renovation, relocation, debt-retirement, mission and budget enhancement efforts. Organizations he has worked with include the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, Tennessee, the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, Florida, Living Word Christian Center in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral, Austell, Georgia.
Education Jim is a member of the Alumni Associations for Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Theological Seminary. In 1985, he was elected First Vice President of his state convention and was conferred an honorary doctorate for his extensive development work in behalf of his denomination. Personal
Jim and his wife, Sue, live in McKinney, Texas. They have two sons and seven grandchildren. They enjoy camping and fly-fishing in the mountains and an occasional round of golf.
